Cheer \Cheer\ (ch[=e]r), n. [OE. chere face, welcome, cheer, OF. chiere, F. ch[`e]re, fr. LL. cara face, Gr. ? head; akin to Skr. [,c]iras, L. cerebrum brain, G. hirn, and E. cranium.] 1.
